We got back to the hut at about 9pm, the long English summer days helping us out with extra light. Over a dinner of Super Noodles and more re-hydrated food, we planned for an early start the next day. Unfortunately, the rain had other plans, and didn't let up until late the next morning.

It was really nice though. We had food. The heating was good. We had gas powered lamps, and I sat there with the rain pounding the small glass windows of the hut, reading a book and listening to the hiss of the lamp. As a luxury, we also had Camembert cheese and salami sandwiches. If I'd had a Gin & Tonic to hand, my friends would have been hard pushed to get me out of there in the morning.
