We were here to climb some mountains, and thanks to some very careful planning on Matty's part (see complete itinerary in MS Word format here) the 11 hour drive from London to Scotland had gone off without a hitch. The weather was holding, and we were tucked up in our beds at a cabin in Crianlarich. We were making the most of having en-suite toilets, as we'd be camping from here on in.
For me, this trip was part of a larger plan, which would see me climbing Mt. Everest in 2011, so it was very important for me to prove to myself that I was fit and able. Catching my first view of a very wet and grey Stob Dearg the next day, I definitely felt excited, rather than worried. I took this as a good sign.
