The plan was very simple. Almost as simple as it was foolish. We were going to drive from the south of England all the way up to Scotland, some 350 miles, take the ferry over to the Isle of Arran and then walk around the island unsupported. We aimed to get back to the south of England inside of three days. It was ambitious.
